There's a difference between sharing the road and blocking traffic and getting in the fucking way. Stay far right if there's no bike lane and there shouldn't be any issues..

If your dumb ass is working while we're riding(usually weekends) you probably have your name on your shirt and aren't contributing a whole lot to the tax pool of your state or the federal government anyway. Get a clue, in the future there will only be more bicycles on the road not less.
At 50 years old I put an average of 4500 miles a year on my bicycle. What about you? what are you doing to help our environment and to stay healthy so I don't have to pay for your medicare when you have heart disease and have to walk around with an oxygen tank when you are my age?
p.s.
Just a guess but I am willing to wager one of bicycles is worth more than your car.
Im on the other side of the coutnry and road cycling is huge here. Its pretty much true. Everything you said.
I will say this in the cars defense, most cyclists dont know how to take the road and be aggressive on the street. You have to in order to be safe and co-exist on roads mainly infested with cars.

All of you are missing the most basic tenet of this issue.
You don't have a choice, it is your responsibility, when exercising your "PRIVILEGE" to operate a Motor Vehicle on "PUBLIC" roadways, to share the roadway with all legal manner of transportation. That includes HD trucks, Trains, Buses, Motorcycles, and where law allows, bicycles.

I see what you're saying. His blanket statment only applies to road cyclists wearing full kits. There are a billion other cycling niche's out there though that make his statement completely false. I read it differently the first time than I should I guess.

And Farbie, I'm not missing the point. I agree that motorists should share the roads, and I have personally experienced ass hole drivers. I've never been hit by a car per se, but I have been struck by 2 side mirrors whilst riding near the shoulder of a four lane road.
I just think all of the bickering and name calling is childish -- I know, surprising coming from a place like r3v.

To all of you narrow minded moreon's that think every cyclist doesn't own a car or pay taxes. We are mostly well educated upper middle class citizens that own multiple vehicles and houses. We pay property, state and federal taxes. We support grass roots organizations that help plan road use.
If I and my group are holding you up at light on your way to work it is either Saturday or a summer evening after work and you are probably wearing a shirt with your name on it. We are out for our weekly group ride and doing something to stay healthy. The bike I am on is worth more than the car you are driving and has as long a European pedigree. I own several of these and a percentage of each component goes to the government to help with bike routes and planning. Be careful who you honk at because we come from all walks of life, some are even police officers. In CA we put a nice doctor in jail for 6 years because of the harm he did to several cyclists with his car. As the cost of gas continues to rise and the cost of owning a car skyrockets there will only be more cyclists on the road in the coming years. There may come a day when you have to join us on the roads and I will be the first to wave and welcome you as go by. Hope to see you on the road some day!Just livin in the OC minus my E30

Pardon me, does your Colnago have a carbon fiber tube that redirects the smell of farts to your face, so you can smell their heavenly scent.
