Visiting Denver for 10 days, the first week of October. Looking for fun things to do, places to go, with a focus on hiking and the outdoors. Wont have a bike up there, so mountain biking isnt an option and itll be too early to ski. Also i much prefer hiking without determined paths or concrete trails and crap like that. Any suggestions for other fun stuff to do would be appreciated as well.

Fun things to do outdoors in Colorado?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.Tags: None -

Boulder being a "great city" is very subjective. There is an INSANE amount of stuff to do around here, unfortunately there's a fire right now right outside Boulder, so access to a lot of the mountains around Boulder is shut off.. There's stuff to do though, I enjoy Horsetooth Reservoir up in Fort Collins, hiking around, and there's a lot of stuff to do. There's a LOT of stuff to do around here.
PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

I remember there used to be a bar in downtown Denver that served like 40 different beers. Then get out in the woods and do something Bear Grylls would do. If you're still bored, speed up I25 the Cheyenne and drink there.
Oh, and you could go to DIA and test that calculator thing and see if it takes you down to the secret underground testing facilities.Comment

fort collins has some good stuff if you like craft beers and college towns. definitely go to rocky mountain national park, it is pretty amazing. red rocks is pretty badass and not too far out from the front range. denver is pretty fucking weak, imo, probably my least favorite part of the state. that is, besides the eastern part, which might as well be renamed western kansas. midwest ftmfl. oh, and just for your comment, jrhaile, wa state ftl too ;)Originally posted by DozyproductionsYou know why you're drinking that Pabst? No its probably not because it was the first beer you grabbed. It's because you're a winner.Comment

There's a restaurant like 10 minutes from where I live that has like 37 taps, majority being their own brews (majority being like 34 of those taps or something... Oscar Blues anyone?...) Colorado from what I remember hearing, has the most microbrews of any other state, so there's plenty of good beer to be had. Cheyenne, meh... Never heard of this DIA thing, wtf?I remember there used to be a bar in downtown Denver that served like 40 different beers. Then get out in the woods and do something Bear Grylls would do. Ft. Collins can be fun, depending on what you're into. It's a college town, like Boulder... Boulder is really liberal, Ft. Collins, not so much. The national forest is pretty cool, if you have the time, I'd suggest cruising around, head down I-70 for like 2 hours. Maybe head up to Winter Park, unbelievable even when there's no snow on the ground. Check out Vail too, Breckenridge, etc... All mountain towns, LOTSA money, but still fun to visit and hike / walk around. Red rocks is cool if there's a show, east is pretty boring (unless you're going to High Plains Raceway :) )fort collins has some good stuff if you like craft beers and college towns. definitely go to rocky mountain national park, it is pretty amazing. red rocks is pretty badass and not too far out from the front range. denver is pretty fucking weak, imo, probably my least favorite part of the state. that is, besides the eastern part, which might as well be renamed western kansas. midwest ftmfl. oh, and just for your comment, jrhaile, wa state ftl too ;)

Normally id say visit Boulder, but the fire makes it less awesome right now. I know Bishop isnt such a fan of the town, but it is an awesome town to visit for a few days or years, great hiking, biking, outdoorsy trails, climbing, nearby camping and skiing......awesome place. Good nightlife too, not just studenty.
Yes, the town is liberal. If that bothers you to the point of not visiting or considering it.......thats pathetic.Comment
