Psh, not a fan my ass. I enjoy coming to Boulder thoroughly. I'm just offering up simple facts, Boulder is a liberal town and Ft. Collins is more conservative.... If given the option to go to either, I'd have to do some thinking cause both have their ups and downs.
Fun things to do outdoors in Colorado?

Fair enough, but for a ten day visit to the state, and probably a day or two max at a different town, why does the political leanings of a town matter? I dont see how liberal or conservative ideology would impact a vacation. Boulder wont force you to buy medical pot and abort babies any more than fort collins will make you a believer in Jesus and buy guns.Comment

I mention out of sheer fact giving. I don't know his political affiliation, and he may prefer to know those things... I wouldn't not visit Boulder cause its Liberal if I were around for a few days. That WOULD be dumb, I was just saying.
Disregard the ramblings of the people on either side of the political fence OP, we're friends anyway.... Yes, visit Boulder, yes, visit Ft. Collins. Go down I-70 if you can and see Vail, copper, Breck, Winter Park... Go to the national forest. Go to Estes Park and see the Stanley hotel where they filmed The Shining... There's a LOT of options... If you're stuck in Denver, cruising around the 16th street mall is fun, specially if you're of age... The Hard Rock is a fun joint, as is Coyote Ugly

agreed, lodo is fun too, especially if there's a rockies game involved. i like some venues & bars over on colfax as well, but the op was asking about outdoorsy activity, and denver proper is not so great for that.Originally posted by DozyproductionsYou know why you're drinking that Pabst? Mmmmmm, fair enough... But it's always nice to unwind after a long day of outdoors and hiking and such w/ a beer, loud music, and good food.

Make sure to visit the indian peaks area. They have some excellent lake hikes. Forget it on the weekends as it will be busy.
The foothills have unlimited hiking for some awesome sunset hikes before dinner.
You can also drive up mount evans (over 14,000 feet) It is a good way to relax when you are sore from hiking but want to still be outside and have awesome views.
If you have a 4WD vehicle then look into the 4WD trails. There are thousands. They offer some of the best wild experience that can be done in just a few hours without going backpacking. Pack up some grills and food and just have a good time next to a river.
Drive the peak to peak highway, start in Golden and end in estas park.
