Randy Spares. And I don't think you would be able to shit as fast. I bet it works better on a cable set up or something.

When i was a kid I got to sit in a car of a strange guy handing out candy to kids and he had a gated shifter, and I thought it was the ultimate of euro sports car cool..
So after he was done and dropped me off in a dark alley two hours from my home
I thought to my self.... umm I would love to have a shifter like that..
This is the base reason for my animosity towards Ferrari, cause by the time I could afford one those bitches drop the gated manual shifter for a fug-O-matic...

So yes I would totally work the shit out of a gate in my E30, and hand out candy...

I can see one in anodized black brushed aluminum looking incredible. With the right shift knob, of course.

god dammit, accidentally erased my entire post when trying to add a picture, oh well, anyway gated shifters FTW,.

too bad ferrari no longer offers a maunal in any of their cars. stupid fappy paddle boxes FTL.

F355 hawtness, would be perfect with a F348 steeringwheel put in it though.

I never liked his. I wish I could find pics of that red S14-swapped E21 from the UK. He had one in that car, and it looked like it was right out of a Ferrari.

It's this car, but I can't find any pics of the interior, this is the only one I have:

I hate driving with those. Constantly have to look to see if you're hitting the right slot because there's zero play.

Gated shifters are the tits. Go for it and once you start driving with it you'll get used to it in no time

I think it looks cool and I like that when you're in gear you can see what gear your in and more of a visual feel of what gear you're in.

BTW where in south jersey do you live?
I guess, it just seems so different. I feel like in my old gearbox you just gotta get the shifter near one of the gears then push it in.

Im from riverton, near palmyra/cinnaminson area.

I rode in a Diablo SV with a gated shifter, the driver was having a hell of a time getting it into 1st and 2nd gear. Probably works great with a new transmission and shift linkage, but get some wear on it and it might not go into that particular gear in that exact way so great. I tried shifting it myself, just felt like shit.

Oh, and do you realize how much noise an e30 shifter setup would make bouncing off the gate legs? It would be horrible.
