The gov mentions that to blondie when he explains the fights are staged.

As far as the biting goes im really starting to get bugged our by the bites some of these decrepit creatures are taking. Like seriously how could something whose body is decomposing and is so frail that a blunt object easily punctures THROUGH its skull take such a bug bite out of Herschel's leg or Tdawgs neck?
Maybe I'm just stuck thinking of sone 28 days later zombies and them wasting away.

Kinda like the fungus that takes the ant to a high place, then sprouts a mushroom from it's head to spread spores and infect the entire colony.

Or the one that takes over the rats brain and runs it straight into a feline eating frenzy. Cat eats rat, then the parasite reproduces in the cat's intestinal tract.
