      I feel your pain. I'm trying to resurrect an 81 Scirocco S that has not run in 16 years. I've got it to where it will idle decent and run for about 5 minutes, then it bogs and dies.

      Finally got this little tool to test fuel control pressures as I suspect my warm up regulator is out of whack.

      Your Caddy sounds like it is the fuel mixture...especially since you are unable to adjust it. Idle adjustment screw and timing could be off as well.

      I've come close to carbs, but I'm trying to keep this one fairly OEM.
