Thanksgiving break throws off everything. I always get papers due right before and right after that I do not work on at all during the week off. Andddddddddd now I'm fucked but I managed to do a 10 page report for today and it only took from about 11 to 3am last night.

    College. Fuck yeah.

WHOO fuck yeah. Finished my paper at 0437 November 30th. Time to pass the fuck out. Couldn't have done it without ya r3v.

Actually I could have, its probably the only reason I WAS able to do it is because I was without you. Assholes...

That morning, while everyone else was giving their speeches, I was frantically writing a two page essay for Spanish class. During Spanish class, I wrote a two page essay for French class. After I handed in my French essay, I walked out of that class, down the hall and out the door right next to the vice principal's office. I kicked the door open and screamed "FUCK YEAH!" as I left. Cool story bro...but it really did make me relive the terror of HS

BTW Did it all the time in HS and College, I would usually stay up all night. I wrote my best papers under pressure, especialy for essay tests. For example one of my Sociology professors would give us (5) possible essay questions, only (3) of which would be on the test, (2) of which you had to answer. I would write the essays and the rest of the people in the Midnight Study group would handle the MC questions. I could BS an essay like hell.

Hell, one time I wrote an essay while blazed out of my skull on how certain TV shows reflect society. I wrote about the Flintstones, Jetsons and Scooby-Doo. Didin't remember what I wrote unitl I got it back, B-, only becuase they were cartoons rather than traditional media. Luckily, he had a sense of humor.

I feel like if I tried to pull this shit in college I would have terrible grades. If I have a paper due I have it done at least three days ahead of time for peer reviews.

Don't even get me started on test prep. The only area I slack is math homework that doesn't get collected.

If I had left a Term Paper sit around for 3 days, it would've gotten lost.

it has almost been 1 year to the day of when i turned in my last paper (econ thesis).

not having homework (while also having a job, mind you) is the best thing in the whole world.

I always do everything in the last minute.
I don't think it's a bad way to do it as long as you can pull it off.
I find myself working on a simple assignment for hours when I'm not under pressure, so I see it as a waste of time.
When I know that I have to be done with the paper/report by 8am in the morning, that's when I get motivated and that's when I work efficiently. If the assignment is not too big I wake up at around 3am and finish it quickly.
Last semester however I had to prepare a 10-15 page report for every Tuesday morning for Fluid Dynamics Lab. Since I didn't have time at all before that due to the excessive unit load, I could only start on it at around 10pm the night before. This meant allnighters every single f*cking Monday night for a whole semester, it sucked. But I got it done in around 8-9 hours each time, when others in the class spent time in excess of 20 hours a week on that report.

Everybody has their own style, as long as you are productive with your own, and you produce quality work, I don't see why doing something close to the due date would be a problem.

When I was in college/HS I used to.......until I got into my upper level classes. Where 10-15 pages of WELL thought out arguments and supporting evidence were needed to get at least a B.

So I would shoot to write 75-80% a week before it was due, then not work on it again until 1-2 days before its due.

Gives you a clear look at what you have written, does it need restructuring/rewritten/more background info. And now that you are taking a second look, you'll have fresh ideas and views on the subject and info you have used. So writing the remaining pages and polishing up the paper is a breeze.

Granted I still banged out that first 75% in a hurry..........but then giving myself a break to finish it later, always ended up with an A paper.
