Wish i could find this guy on the street. I'll leave him with his head spinning, he wouldn't know what hit him. He talks like we all run around in stock e30's. Skinny tires my ass...I bet they are way more moded e30 then e36's.

Theres just some people who dont appreciate the rawness of the e30. Their femenin side favors the cushiness and refinment.

Obviously he doesn't understand that the e30m3 was where it all started...
You meant 2002, but thats ok, it fit within the conversation.

The e30 M3 is the winningest touring car of the automotive history. Period.

I think the racing history and success really makes the e30 M3 stand out as special to me. During its time it was slaying the competition in almost every single championship race it entered.

I also like the fact that it was truly a different car. There is no mistaking an e30 M3 for another e30, its fender flares and body changes really make it stand out cosmetically. Most newer M cars are just a slight variation of their lower end brethren.

Bah to that fellow, he probably just got supermanned by a new 5.0 mustang, so he has to lash out at the very small cluster of happy e30 m3 owners out there. I personally feel more at one with my e30 3 series than I did with my e36 m3, and id happily take an e30 m3 over any of the modern m3's, due mostly to the fact that even the newest m3 barely overcomes the new muttstank gt, which is depressing, considering the price differences. And the e30 m stands out. Don't get me wrong. The e46 and e92 m is nice to look at, but so was my last gf, and she was way fucking overpriced, too.

    Thad.

Simple. A Honda minivan will blow the doors off a 1957 Porsche 356 at an autocross, thanks to 50 years of improved technology. Which car would you rather have in your driveway? Which car will be remembered in another 50 years? Porsche 356 or Honda minivan?

But, what are you going to do?
    Build a 2.5 S14!

What cracks me up is that he lumps all E30s together. My old white car had mild coilovers, somewhat bigger brakes, 215 azenis and an S50 with the basic bolt-ons. And the driver was a n00b. That combo was enough to blow the doors off all of the N/A e36 M3s in my run group and hang tidily with the N/A e46 M3s at NHMS. I consider my car far inferior to to an e30 M3 both in heritage and potential but it was still damn fun to drive and I would have it over any later M3 if given the option.

I think the fact that it was 1000 lbs LIGHTER then the other cars helped with the fun factor too though...
