But, what are you going to do?

Bah to that fellow, he probably just got supermanned by a new 5.0 mustang, so he has to lash out at the very small cluster of happy e30 m3 owners out there. I personally feel more at one with my e30 3 series than I did with my e36 m3, and id happily take an e30 m3 over any of the modern m3's, due mostly to the fact that even the newest m3 barely overcomes the new muttstank gt, which is depressing, considering the price differences. And the e30 m stands out. Don't get me wrong. The e46 and e92 m is nice to look at, but so was my last gf, and she was way fucking overpriced, too.

I think the racing history and success really makes the e30 M3 stand out as special to me. During its time it was slaying the competition in almost every single championship race it entered.
I also like the fact that it was truly a different car. There is no mistaking an e30 M3 for another e30, its fender flares and body changes really make it stand out cosmetically. Most newer M cars are just a slight variation of their lower end brethren.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
This is the internet. Just make something up.

Theres just some people who dont appreciate the rawness of the e30. Their femenin side favors the cushiness and refinment.
Obviously he doesn't understand that the e30m3 was where it all started...-Jay

It cost me $4800 or so to rebuild my s14. I can't afford to do that again.
It cost me about the same to install an unstressed, lazy s32. Once the suspension has been uprated for track, the handling balance is about the same, but you have to drive the car differently.
S32s can be had for $2500.
In the fall, I put the s14 back in.
I think it makes more economic sense to use an S5x in the car for track.
I'll retire the car from track after next season and use a regular e30 with the swap, as I do miss the original stock suspension/s14 experience.
The best part about the E30M3 is that it is a totally different driving paradigm than the heavier successors.

sorry but he's mostly right. I love the e30 M3 but the first thing I would do is swap the anemic engine...to an e36 M3 engine like a lot of people on here have done...or bigger. I've owned my e30 since it was new in '87 and plan on keeping for a while so I know the joy (and frustration) of owning one. But comparing it to a Miata is a bit of a stretch. If I ever win the lotto, I'm getting a real e30 M3 convertible and a Cecotto.
now of course none of my shit is stock......but call me what you want.'87 325ic, powered by S50.
