People can't wash their trucks/cars when they're dirty? He wheels it harder than any person I know..... Sand, mud, trails, everything.

He's right. There's more big pickup trucks here than cars, unfortunately.

Now, the ass-hats in their lifted trucks and 2wd Wranglers were the ones who would sit in muddle puddles flinging mud and then not washing their vehicles for weeks just to look cool. Not to mention they were total trail jerks and made the whole community look bad.

My point, dirt is not an indicator of someone who actually offroads. Not saying hardcore offroaders arent allowed to get their rigs dirty. Just saying that it is a method for poseurs to look "cool."
just driving a truck/ jeep through some dirt trails and rocks isnt offroading, sure theres no road but the point of it is, imo to get dirty and go where no other car can. theres nothing like driving through a mud pit and tossing mud everywhere. ive only taken my jeep offroading once but i have been with a few friends before and finding puddles and crazy mud is what its about, and we always wash our cars right after

i haven't worked on the brand new ones, so you may be right. the say 00' through 05' fords have chevy in a bag. the chassis is bullet proof on the ford, as was the 7.3. the 6.slow was terrible but the trans and chassis are great. the chevy has a good trans but they build to much for comfort of driver, and not deadset durability.

edit: the chevys real chassis down fall is the springs, theyre variable rate, and the ford runs straight leafs. along with numerous other things i can mention.

ehhhh even the early versions of the Duramax are head above the combine engine, other than the dead reliability. All though they are both similar in reliability stats.

No will not argue that the live axle front and sprung with full on leafs is a little more robust, its a moot point as I have seen about as many failures in the front ends of GM Vs Fords at work, same for Dodges.

Like I said they all have their own strong and weak points, and I am a GM guy, and we have put way too many of them though the paces on the farm as a kid and on construction sites and shit, they are tough as anything ford has, just have to know what to take care of and where the weak points are on anyting

very true, i like something from most manufacturers. i also like how your opinion isn't the typical "ford vs chevy," they both make good vehicles.

I like how you think the tundra is a "proper truck" bring it out where I work, and just use it as inspector rig and you will have parts failing left and right. There have been a few inspecotrs that have tried the yota, and have gone right back to a Big 3 with in 2-3 years because of all the broken shit. T cases, and trannys have been the big failure points on the pipelines and oil and gas work
Deffinatly Not a tundra. Its a hilux.

And i was going more for the stance, and overall usability of the vehicle

I like them (to a point, not the SEMA style with 14" lift and 24's with 40"+ tires), just not the stereotypical owner.

I think full size 4x4 trucks look better with a lift (6") and 35" or so tires. It has nothing to do with offroad ability, simply looks. The trucks today being as large as they are, look strange low to the ground with small tires.

I tow plenty but the offroading I do out here isn't anywhere near as rough as you guys see up north. The ol' Avalanche just gave up the ghost, towing way over capacity at way over the speed limit finally snapped that G80 diff.

off roading is fun, not going to lie about that.
around here, most bro trucks (well at least people from my school) are wranglers, broncos, lifted exploders, and gm trucks.
One kid, had a 70s flat black chevy truck, lifted up, with fat ass tires, and had stickers that said shit like 'the sierra club can kiss my ass'.
he would drive it around town with a HUGE confederate flag in the bag, blaring country music. The hilarity here was that this kid was half white, and half mexican

GM 10 bolt is a tough unit, (G80 is the option code for LSD just so you know). 1/2 tons only got the 10 bolt, if you broke that you need to step into a 3/4 ton they have the 14 bolt.

Ok just let me get this straight, you broke a long proven 1/2 ton platform by over loading and too much speed. And you are going to replace with ANOTHER 1/2 ton of lesser build quality????????

You need a 3/4 ton from the sounds of it, not grocery getter with a bed on it from Japan, they still have a long way to go in learning how to build a real truck that does real work.

oh Trucidatio: A tacoma then thats not a truck thats a toy, you argument now holds NO water

My hate for bro trucks has nothing to do with the actual vehicles and everything to do with the mentality of the douche driving it. Sideways hat wearing, kottonmouth kings listening, k-swiss sporting douchebags who drive like complete assholes and are proud of the fact that they piss off everyone around them.
