Bad start to a new year.

These are from our street in North Brisbane. All that waters heading to brisbane right now.
This is the end of our street, one way in and out. Started at about 7am this morning and got worse from there. We back onto a major Catchment Dam which is over 100%, It's releasing water into the rivers which is backing up through all the creeks flooding everything.
The Brisbane river has burst it's banks and the city is going under. It's supposed to be the worst on thursday and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

In these photo's there are at least 3 houses in there, 2 story houses, that are completely underwater.

Yeah, floods down here are going a bit nuts this week. Toowoomba was just nasty. Here in Brisbane we're at least getting warnings that record flooding will the city on Thursday. Toowoomba got no warning at all.

In Brisbane the water is already washing away pontoons from the river front houses. Here's some footage I caught this afternoon...and we're only at something like 2 meters...Thursday is supposed to be 5.5 meters! Some rich dudes will be pissed.

That's shit, australia is an awesome country, I hope the flood gets whatever douches there are out there, and leaves the rest.

On the news this morning they were saying there has been reports of sharks swimming in the flood waters in/around Brisbane.

An American on LS1 forums asked about Australia, he wanted to know everything there is to know.... this was the first response: "Well one side of the country has tens of thousands of homes underwater. The other side of the country has bushfires. and in between is all desert. So when you moving here?"
lol it's funny cos' it's true.

I've been glued to the tv for 3 days now, havn't been able to get to work seeing as I go through the city, it's like watching some apocalyptic movie where everyones just waiting for things to go to shit. which it will in the morning..

Bull sharks and yes they're true. Bull sharks can live in salt and fresh water and have been known to attack people in under 1m of water.

These floods are fucked. As I posted in the This is Pictures thread, 75% of the state is underwater (an area bigger than Germany France Belgium and half of Portugal) 13 are dead (including kids), +60 are missing and they expect 200,000 people to have their houses water damaged.

A few of my mates up there have lost almost everything :(

Guys, a brissie-based mate wrote this piece as he's a flood recovery specialist. Please pass it on if anyone you know has a house that went even a little way under in the flood - http://floodcleanup.wordpress.com/20...after-a-flood/
