My awesome girlfriend got me the Sigma 50MM 1.4 EX. (It was at the top of my most wanted lenses.) I was comparing it to Nikon's 1.4G (which I've used, along with all of their other 50's.) Decided to go with the Sigma for my wishlist after reading dozens of reviews. I even told her to not buy me any lenses because I didn't want her spending that sort of money. Sure, it's the cheapest on the list of lenses but I've been wanting a nifty fifty of my own for awhile. It never left my D700 on a recent trip to some parks in California.

Just 2 for now, love this lens.

I truly am. Almost pulled the trigger on the D7000, after I sold my D60 to a friend for basically nothing. So happy I went FF. Now to find the time to focus on me.

                      Thanks guys.

Ok how about a camera dump from that last couple of weeks. Taken with a Canon Powershot 570 Idiot camera Some are great some are kinda so so, its been really bright lately so most of these longer shots are really washed out.

Sunrise in my front yard a week or 2 ago

Fox out in search of lunch out back by the horse pen

Went for a little hike to up to Strawberry lake. 1500' Elevation gain in 1.3 miles and 2.8 miles one way.

Small fire burring on Peters Ridge, west side of strawberry Mountain, with a USFS helo getting into position to drop some water (little red spec in the center).

If you look closely little left of center and and down just a little bit you can see a little red spec its a USFS Helo, and below that you can see the stream of water being released onto the fire form the bucket hanging below. Sorry they were a good mile and a half away and zoomed in anymore it becomes a blur.

Looking back to the West out over the Flathead valley. It was a very hot, bright and hazy day.

                            Made it, Strawberry lake

Looking South/South West from the upper sections of strawberry lake trail. You see Eco Lake in front there, and Flathead Lake further out. Yeah its big, Flathead lake is the largest Natural freshwater lake West of the Mississippi.

Yeah trail gets skinny up here, strawberry Mountain there in the middle

Bird Woman Falls on MT Oberlin in Glacier park from across the valley on the sun road. they are 492 feet high.

Haystack Creek as it falls off the side of Haystack Mountain and flows under the sun road. Taken form the same point as the above pic.

Well my 7d took a shit today. after doing video for a little bit
I tried to take some normal stills and every couple of shots I'd get error 30,
Eventually it just stopped taking any shots without the error. I guess it's something I have to send into canOn for. I guess I'll be using my old 10d for class for a while.
