I shoot a lot of sports and action shots. Its very rare that I need the burst mode. The claim of frames per second in burst mode is also a little misleading because once the image buffer is used up your frame rate drops through the floor. I get about 8-10 frames on my D7000 before it slows way down. With the buffer full I might get 3 frames per second if that. The feature has its place, but unless you like editing a ton of virtually the same image, its not that big of a deal how many frames per second the camera is listed at being able to do. Its kinda like having a car that is capable of doing 250 mph. Bragging rights yes, but really, how often are you going to go 250 mph, or even try to? The D5200 is a step up, but with that sort of resolution, you will need to buy high end glass otherwise the lenses can screw up your shots.
