I landed in country 10 days ago, and was seriously thinking about getting the iphone on verision. I had a 3g in germany and loved it. I decided to try out the android and went with the Droid X and it is far far better than the iphone!

I'm glad I didn't wait to jump on the bandwagon for the less superior phone!

The nice thing is with the Evo you can run in 3g and not kill your battery life in 5 minutes, currently the verizon phones dont have the 4g option.

Have you used an Evo? The battery life is shit regardless of what you use. You have to basically turn everything off just to get any life out of the thing. I hate this stupid phone.

Two actually, my old one I gifted to my girlfriend and then I used my free upgrade to get another. I have had no realistic issues with either phone getting a full day (provided I am not playing angry birds or watching a video for hours) out of it. Not sure what you mean by "turn everything off" but I typically leave Wifi and bluetooth off unless I am in a place where I would be using their wifi (like home, friends house, etc). Bluetooth I only turn on when I am actually using it, which is pretty rare. Screen either set to medium or full brightness (dont like auto) and every ring mode vibrates.

The only times I got shit battery life were when I was on a PRI/NV or Kernel that didnt play nice with the phone. I'm rooted.

Are you rooted or stock? For either what version of the software are you running?

waiting till my contract is up with this shitty android phone and then I will be getting back to the iphone :).

I previously had at&t until my dad switched over to Verizon which forced me to get rid of my iphone 3g.

Ouch that's pricey...I pay $175.00 for my wife's and my phone from t-mo. Galaxy S phones (Unlimited calling, texting and data package + phone insurance) not a bad deal.
