Blame your GOVT for that. You are an Oil producing nation. There is no reason for your pricing to be that high other than the TAXATION levied by your govt.

I have no sympathy for anyone that bitches about fuel being that high in Europe, you have all brought it on your selves at the voting booth.

Never fear though we will be in the same boat soon enough :(

    that is dumb!
Gulf coast of TX has like 40 of them. Cushing OK has many, SoCal has about 12 that I know of, MI has few, NJ is fucking full of them (thats why it smells like jesery) My state has 4 the dakotas have many, LA MS and AL have a shit load of them Chicago has many in the area as well.

    Shall I go on ????

        Thats for 95 you dope.

Further analysis of the thread has informed me that their octane ratings are not the same as us fat, lazy, basement dwelling americans. Sorry, carry on.

Just reposting an email, don't know if true. you can argue all the points but untill there is actual test data (where to get that, I don't know) both people can be right :)

what I got from the slow rate was to minimize gas disturbence which in return minimizes the evaporation surface area. kinda like pouring a beer or champagne. If you dump it in you lose alot of beer to foam, tilt glass pour slow=minimal foam. so minimal evap. does that matter idk.

I think it's so insignificat that it doesn't matter.

thank our govt and the EPA. there were several that were built in the late 70's that never ran a barrel because of the EPA restrictions that were passed about the same time as completion and it was cheaper to not fire them up and moth ball them. NY state has 2 of those IIRC

Up North, where everyone is smart and polite our gas temperatures are kept at a constant 15 degrees (C obviously). Sooooo. There?

The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.
I wonder how much this is? A teaspoon? Lets see PV=nRT...errrr....Crap - that's for gasses. What's the calculation for liquid expansion?

                          ΔV = βVT

                          The thermal
                          expansion of gas-o-lean is 950 β (10−6 K−1) (http://physics.info/expansion/)

So if the temp changes 5 degrees between day and night (underground, I think that's fair) you'd have a change of filling up a 14 gallon e30's tank....

                          day 50 degrees Fahrenheit = 283.15 kelvin
                          night 55 degrees Fahrenheit = 285.927778 kelvin

Lets just say 5 degrees K.

                          0.00095(1/K) * 5K = 0.00475 (no units) time 14 gallons = 0.0047 gallons difference between day and night.

Or about 3 teaspoons. Yea, I'm totally going to do that to save 1.9 cents..
