I gotta find me one of those. It'll go nice with my "I knocked up your honor student" sticker.

And you can thank groups like them for your right and ability to say such things. And (along with the American Conservative Union) for the strongest efforts to curtail the (nazi) Patriot Act.

The ACLU, much like labor unions and other outdated political concepts has long outlived its usefulness and now acts only as a group to support left wing fringe elements.

Charlie... I've never said this to a man before... but... I love you.

 I thought that's what thee Constitution was for...
And that is what they fight to defend. DUH!!!!!!
Look at what the current administration thinks of our Constitution by its support of the Patriot Act.
The Constitution is nothing more than a piece of paper unless it is defended.
Now, I'll grant you that the ACLU defends the most unpopular people and groups in this country. If they don't, however, you might as well burn the Constitution. (Though I'll admit, they seem a bit silly at times).

What, like the NRA and the American Conservative Union? Or how about the American Nazi party? All have been defended and served by the ACLU.

i would have added to this conversation, but charlie has already added everything i have to say - well spoken! if you didn't live on the other side of the country - i'd buy you a beer.
The ACLU is completely useless. When Jesse Jackson is on your band wagon, you cannot deny that you are doing something seriously wrong.

You are seeming rather silly at this very specific time.
The one or two parts of the partriot act that have shady wording will be gone soon enough because "NORMAL" lawyers are making cases against it. The ACLU is just a little waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles organization that has outlived its usefullness.
I don't see the ACLU fighting to keep guns in peoples hands for the second amendment. I don't see them defending my freedom of speech to call someone a wet back, waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles, honkie or waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles (just to name a few). They pick the fights that the great "Vast Left Wing Conspiracy" wants them to fight.
p.s. - No, I am not a biggot. My cousin is gay and I hang out with him frequently. When I was young all of my friends were black and they would frequently call me their "waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles" with respect. I am married to a part-honkie-part-pollock, and the "wet back" who waits on us at our favorite restaurant in Florida has been up to visit us in Pennsylvania several times. I'm just trying to make a point that the ACLU definitely has an agenda other than defending the constitution.
They had a galant purpose back in the day but now with how politicians are afraid to be on any fringe so they wouldnt be passing a "Beaners must wear white" law.
As for the Patriot Act. Anyone see Carlos Mencia? That skit was fucking HILARIOUS!

THis is what happens when people uneducated about the Constitution and the law start taking on issues over their head.
Every year, the ACLU in Cincinati defends the right of a local Nazi/KKK group for a dsiplay they like to have on Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati.
Your comments about the Patriot Act show you know very little about it. Check out the information from the AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE UNION to see what I am talking about. There are not a few "grey areas".
Clearly, the ACLU as a group attracts fringe people, and yes, most of them are liberals. However, tell me what is more American than when the local gay jewish lawyer from the ACLU annually takes up the fight for the Nazis and the KKK?
Stop getting all of your talking ponts from the misinformation people at Fox News. Or CBS for that matter. They both suck.

The gangbanger that shoots them all and takes their car. And then some bleeding heart lawyer makes a big enough stink that law abiding citizens can't buy the guns they want for ten years.
