That box was clearly used before, and as someone else said, the rips were most likely done when someone else opened it- based on the looks of it.

Looks like the shipper did an extremely shitty job packing the bike- and if UPS just left it at your door either UPS screwed up or the shipper didn't INSURE the package, which is a dumbass move.

As far as putting the box upside-down, that shouldn't be a problem if it's PROPERLY PACKAGED FOR SHIPMENT. I guarantee you that none of the shipping companies will guarantee you that your shipment will be kept in a certain orientation for the entire trip- it's just not gonna happen.

"This side up" means nothing to shipping companies, and "Fragile" means that it's OK to drop or throw it across the warehouse.

IMHO, I don't think UPS is to blame for much, if any, of this.

If the bike is actually in the box and has no damage I would personally be ecstatic. Buying a used 5,000 dollar anything on eBay is asking for disappointment. Buying that stuff local is the only way to ensure you will be happy.

My carbon fiber mountain bike's packaging was way worse than that and the bike was fine. All the parts were zip tied to a piece of cardboard that floats in the middle which made everything intact.

You could practically see the content of the box because it was so torn up. I was pissed at first but I got the bike put together and it was just fine. Yours look like it was packaged by a bike shop. So the contents will be fine.

Wow.... I am really offended by you saying people from Cali are dumb. But I also laughed fuck hard at that comment because I garentee you that you are dumber than the dumbest person in califonia. And I also laugh at the fact that there is no way that people in california are dumb I guarantee you that the there are more unwed teenage pregnancy in texas then Cali and there is no possible way my mother is in anyway dumb. I guarantee you that her mind could run circles around yours, infact I know that I am smarter than you because I would never think or say anything as stupid as that. I don't think you could run 3 companies by yourself as she does:up: please tell me about another state going for another basketball championship.....hmmmm

Your just jelious because you've never been here before letalone out of the country. Be dumb on your pedo forum not here.... Ass bag

I shipped a hard drive for my computer UPS, it failed in the next 5 monthes. That was a weird computer experience.

Got a new one sent fedex, still going 3 years later. Every UPS box is subject to a 6 foot drop I think.

Bring it to UPS and have them agree to open it in front of them. Make sure you're calm and more relaxed before talking to them....lol. If it's not damaged, all's well.
