Federalization is a bitch, you would probably have better luck selling your e30s in your country and buying one here...
Read that, sounds like it might be a bit of a headache, guess it would be easier to part out all the suspension, brakes and steering and send it over than bring the entire car.

Kinda sucks, would be pretty unique rocking a RHD e30 that side.

Serious, I said what I said, but this place is amazing. I moved here 2 years ago from Los Angeles. I'm not going back. Soon, it will be overcrowded, like everywhere is, but for now, it's amazing.

^ Sorry, last I checked, we were out of cheap coastline. Try some of the Atlantic coast African nations.

Most of all you got to sort out your immigration stuff. In order for you to work in the US, you need to have a work permit, not necessarily a green card. There are few visa categories which allow one to work in US. One of them is H1-B or L1. Every single category has it's own requirements such as you need to have someone (company based in US) to sponser you.

One can apply for green card right away if has either one of things listed below.
            1. Married to a US citizen or a Green card holder
            2. Have a Phd
            3. Have a unique talent and that you are a world recognized person, (mainly scientists, researchers falls into this).

I only remember those 3, but there is not many. You can look it up.

Path to green card is not that easy and processing/waiting period is like forever.

OP sorry if I sounded like discouraging you but that is the reality.

Gotta love how difficult it is to emigrate legally to the US. On the bright side if your fiance gets a green card and you get married, you're in.

I vote Arizona. I'm biased though.

Cali is to pricey to live in, gun laws are ridiculous and so are smog laws

you can carry a firearm in AZ almost anywhere and our smog regulations are very easygoing.

The city life oustide of Idaho Falls is too much for me, (metro area ~358,000 as of 2010 census) and there has been a steady increase in traffic and people nearby. Now keep in mind, that is the entire eastern side of my state, In California, the city I lived in had a population of 187,000. The town I live in, had a population of 408 at the 2000 census, and now, the 2010 lists the population at 477. I'm still looking for smaller.

Yeah I get that totally. The bigger town in the valley services the entire region and we get lots of people down form Alberta as well. Towns range from less than 150 people to about 19k in "Flat land Above The Lake" (rough translation from a Salish Indian word). Since that is the largest population center in the region its where all the stores and shopping are so the traffic it fucking re-fricken-diclous, even in the off seasons when there is NOT many tourists mucking shit up.

I live a little ways out and will be looking to move even further out here in about a year.

why do you guys like to live in such small communities? Personally I can't too many people with not enough to do so they stick their nose into my business. Added bonus for me is that I'm a busy body, I struggle too just sit down and do nothing. So living close or in a city I love. I can always find something to do.

As I said, I moved here from Southern California. I was surrounded by a population of over 15,000,000 people I couldn't escape from in an afternoon drive in any direction. I will admit, yes, people stick their noses where they don't belong, and get into your bubble. But that can be a good thing.

I am in the midst of flooding in my neighborhood from a rapidly rising river. All of our neighborhood is pitching in and filling sandbags and moving belongings, whereas, when I lived in Southern California, during a bad wildfire season our area lost power and water pressure, and not one neighbor would open their door when knocked on attempting to get access to their yards or pools to help to extinguish the fires in their own yards.

Those are the people I hope are riding the wave when California falls into the Pacific Ocean.

Born and raised in a small town. I am not a people person, and I enjoy doing things outside that you cant really do in urban areas. Hunting, Fishing, Horse back thought the back country, ect..... I am a nature guy and can entertain myself with out the need of a club, or other social gathering place.

Small towns are where its at, where you can count on help from your neighbors when you are in need. Yeah it can have its down side when you air your dirty laundry out in the yard, or a skeleton falls outta the closet. But really the benefits far out weigh the cons, my job has taken me to some of the biggest cities on the eastern seaboard with the exception of Boston, NYC, Newark, Philly, B-more the out skirts of DC used to work in Detroit years ago and visit Chicago a couple of times a year. All are places I would never want to live let alone move to and try to raise a family.

Its all personal preference, and what you are used too. But really to me, I would rather have my space and deal with ol lady Johnson poke her nose into my life here and there. over the crime, city govts trying to protect me from my self, people that sooner step on your throat than look at you. Along with all the other shit that comes with living in the city or even most of the burbs

I have no desire to go to LA. Ever really. If it was easy and the opportunity feel into my lap and I didnt have to pay much if anything at all, sure. Is that weird?
