I feel like you basically want something to happen, based on the way you asked...or even had to ask. In your mind, if it was strictly business, you wouldn't have asked and just gone to lunch already.
By asking us, you're attempting to validate lunch for other reasons which maybe you already feel guilty of. I say go for it, but keep it business and don't be sneaky. Tell the GF you're going to a business lunch with the company that got you your job.
