Life is to short and don't waist it on a part time job that will never get you anywhere. If this were you career than that's a different story. I would call off, hang with your buddies, and go back to work the next day and then start looking for a better job.

I think you have been swayed. And if not, don't come back complaining about getting fired from your job.

I hate coworkers who don't take their time off in advanced. I take my shit off 2 weeks ahead like I need to and I've missed all sorts of food, parties, friends, and waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles. I get time off as requested no problem. If I have to work until 10pm and then again at 9am the next day I can still get plenty hammered at a party and go into work well rested to do my job. When I know the fuckers I work with "call out" to go recover from a hang over our management starts cutting hours.

Then again, I'm just big box retail and not a "big boy job" but I won't be any different when I'm off in the professional environment.

just a little comparison here. I have never missed a show up for a day of work, and can count on 1 hand how many days I have been late, in the last 15 years. I have been sent home for being too sick to be there.

Also I have worked 12-16 hour days 7 days a week for almost 7 months with less than 5 days off in that time though the holiday season.

So saying you never missed a day of work at this job, is kinda a cop out IMO. Sorry....

i'd tell them to fuck off. dont be a bitch. there are other jobs out there. unless they are paying you over $20/hour it's not that serious of a job for a teenager. (you're a teen right?)

wow, this is retarded as shit!
jobs aren't exactly the easiest to come by. hell, i moved across the fucking country, left my home and family because i there was zero work out in cali.
jobs aren't disposable, and that way of thinking is completely assbackwards and shows the flaw in the American way of thinking.

OP, just be honest, see if he can help you out. if not, see if your buddies can drive up to you and you all go out for some drinks.

Just ask him for a day off to study for an exam or do research for a paper. All other excuses, like quitting is stupid. It's hard to find jobs these days and quitting is just irresponsible.

Jesus man take a holiday, that's the extreme opposite of the spectrum and isn't any better IMO. Your personal health should be more important than your job.

I'm really thinking if someone would post a thread like this, they likely live at home with mommy and daddy, and also, likely are not old enough to go out to drink.
