Think about it this way, you are staring at a clock, the clock read 1:00. If you travel backwards, in referance to the clock, at the speed of light, it will stay 1:00 to you, as you are matching the speed of the light being reflected off the clock into your eyes.

Now...Imagine if you traveled faster than light. Essentially you would be able to pass those light particles and watch the clock tick back, but you would be an outsider, and unable to change things.

It's more of a perspective dealio.

Sooo if anyone has actually gone and travelled to the future, the said person could never go back and explain or prove it. Therefore proof is not available. Am I correct in assuming this? It would appear so, to me at least, but I am open to be proven wrong. I'd love to go forward and come back, then live differently accordingly.

But...the method describe above is for travelling back, not forward. Even then, once you slowed down you would eventually be back in present time in short order.

I'm no expert, but I do watch a shit load of that Asian and British black dude on History/Discovery. I think it's called "The Universe" or something, where they explore these theories.

CERN says a neutrino beam fired from a particle accelerator near Geneva to a lab 454 miles (730 kilometers) away in Italy traveled 60 nanoseconds faster than the speed of light. Scientists calculated the margin of error at just 10 nanoseconds, making the difference statistically significant. But given the enormity of the find, they still spent months checking and rechecking their results to make sure there was no flaws in the experiment.

Neutrinos (basically neutrons but with much less mass) were clocked at 2% faster than the speed of light with a margin of error of about .3%.
