Have you owned a Miata and bought this brace? Yes your mommy may have owned a miata as a grocery getter.
You're a snotty motherfucker, aren't you? I have owned another car with a wet noodle frame and fitted a very similar brace, which made an absolute night-and-day difference--from rattles and chassis oscillation galore to near nothing. I extrapolated from this experience as well as other testimonials I have read on forums. Sure, it's hearsay, but I have a hard time believing it is a worthless mod.

WTF? Not all small cars have these issues. An e30 for an example does not have a weak chassis, bad gear ratio, seating position, and under powered engine.
A small, sporting car with a small engine has short gearing and this is somehow surprising you? Were you expecting to take road trips in your Miata? 100hp cars need short gearing in order to get out of their own way. It's not rocket science.

Also, you misinterpreted my response as explaining all of your qualms. I was only remarking about the gear ratio.

What can an NA with a 1.8 engine with a 99 head swap and dual exhaust cam swap accomplish? Maybe 120hp & 95 tq? My 200k mile e30 puts out 150hp and 150 tq with no modification to engine or powertrain.
Are you somehow under the impression that I'm not aware the Miata is completely and entirely gutless?

Are you going to say it has a better power to weight ratio?
Seriously, what have I ever said to make you believe I thought the Miata was fast?

Miatas are only popular as track cars because they are inexpensive to run and parts and easy to get.
Right, they don't handle for shit. People like racing small cars with a serious gay stigma just because they're sort of cheap to maintain.

Holy shit, YOU owned another crappy car other than a girlfriend hand me down 325e e30? Did you put in a crappy m50 in that too? Your extensive knowledge definitely only comes from reading all these forums and reading tuner magazines. Oh dont let me forget to mention your mommy drove one. If you put in this part in, it will work like magic...

And I was merely pointing out not all small sports car with 100hp were designed to be crappy from the start. Miata were under engineered from the start.

Right now I'm under the impression you're an idiot with only forum reading and magazine reading experience. You probably spend too much time on forums and playing video games.

You never raced so how the hell do you know? The selection to choose for entry level race cars that are RWD, less than 2000 lbs, inexpensive to run and maintain is a pretty short list. Miata are the MOST raced car in America for a reason. Obviously if they handled like crap no one will be racing them.

Drove that yesterday. .0025 off FTD. :D

Does the chassis have some flex? Yup. It is a convertible. A light one, at that. A roll bar, and frame rails do wonders, however. Stitch welding the seams will all but completely cure it.

Are the cars gay? If you are a 5 year old. Or someone with the same mental capacity.

I am no Miata Pro, but I did drive one regularly for a couple of years when they first hit the market, My Ex's Dad bought one of the first ones to arrive at Webber Motor's in Edmonton.

I will tell you one thing.

that miata's Handling, RAPED everything available domestically in NA at the time that wasnt built in Germany or italy or cost 3 x as much.

they are popular for a reason, also maybe 1% of car owners track their cars...

I didn't ever race it on a track, so this might not mean anything, because we all know, it only counts if you do it on a race track...

the Miata may not be a MANLY ride, but honestly nobody can say it isn't an enthusiasts car with good handling characteristics.

also, no shit it is underpowered, so was every roadster that it was based on.

You guys are so defensive about Miatas.

                    They are faster then e30s.

                    Get over it.

But you (generally) don't look gay driving an e30.

Pretty much, 100% of the time, unless your Miata has livery, and even then some times, you are gay driving it.

Psh, Miatas being called gay is just hilarious. My Grandpa flew reconnaissance in the Pacific theater of WWII (i.e. low flying fast P38s without armor or any weapons), builds and flies airplanes as a hobby, did acrobatic flying until he was 80, and is turning 90 (still building planes and flying them) this month. He has had TWO Miatas as well as MGs, and I've driven both of the Miatas (one first gen, one 08 ). He loves his Miatas, and is about as non-gay as it gets.

Holy fuck are they fun cars to drive, and they do handle well. They're not that gutless compared to my normal DD, but they aren't exactly fast....not that it matters at all, they're just so damn fun to drive. Folks who call them gay just haven't driven them.

                              Cliffs: haters gonna hate.

I love miata's, i almost bought one as a DD/track rat not too long ago. I'm still on the look out for one that comes with a hard top.
