It's kind of interesting, at least to me, but BMW does this thing where they jump chassis as far as being a proper driver's car. The 2002 was great then the e21 was kind of a also ran. Then the e30 followed by the boat e36. Next the e46 was a proper drivers car compared to the e36 and now the e90 was only worth it's weight in their engine.

I am rather confident the F30 will continue this up and down trend bmw has. They took the best part of the E9X's and improved on the rest. As much as people don't like the E90 chassis most people here will agree the f30 looks better from every angle?

Funny but looking at the interior shots the f30's interior looks rather similar to our e30's interior...

Exactly what i thought at first when saw the s. wheel.- I like it a lot and the F30 as well.

And of course they de-tuned their turbo-i4 to fall underneath the capabilities of their larger-engine models otherwise there is almost no reason to offer a larger engine at all.

and to those knocking on only 245hp out of a 2.0t (vs. subies and evos), this is bmw. They have driveability and reliability to worry about as well as the image exuded when you step out of the vehicle. their target audience is (generally) not the 20-somethings with a huge hard-on for hp figures and the 'look at me bro!' stylings of those cars.

Oh hey nao! Yes the styling is much different (credit that to the function over form beginnings of the subie vs BMW); but that should have no bearing on the motor
From personal experience, the subie crowd (can't speak for the evo crowd) is as dedicated to their cars as any. Most are into some type of auto racing themselves (AutoX, ice racing, etc.).

            As for reliability; c'mon
There are tons of +150k WRXs out there, mine included. A local guy has 220k on his 02 with the stock motor/tranny pushing out 250whp for the last 40k miles. These are solid motors w/o many of the issues the 2.5 had, and with years of motor building I dont find is plausible that BMW cannot safely get more power out of their 2.0 motor. It HAS to be that they dont want to remove the I6 motor from its perch as "Top Motor" in their 3 series lineup.

The coupe is god awful, way to much downward slope to the front, looks like a fuckin honda, kill them both with fire.

I wish they woulve adopted this frontend for the entire 3, 5, 6, 7 range looks so aggressive.

oh and, Y U no build this? BMW has such aggressive concepts, but they morph into boring and dull production models, its sad.

no, the camaro is ugly as shit.

when i look at the concept i dont see a camaro, i see the the old 3.0CS. , dual separate round headlights, with wide kidneys, angled foreward, ( like the old CS) it makes fore a very agressive look. I just like it.

heres a 3.0 for comparison. the RZM6 concept front end looks to me like a modern interpretation of this car.

the coupe photo is of a concept from a studio called racerxdesign, outside of bmw, its not an official concept. but i like it, and i wish that bmw would adopt a similar styling language for their cars, thats all.

when talking of reliability I'm not talking about 250hp, stockish with a tune; I'm talking people heavily modding the cars to push 350+, race clutch, SYcK aero kits, look at me bro! seems to me like a lot of owners are trying to see who can blow up the engine good. I'm not saying that the enthusiasts aren't dedicated, knowledgeable, friendly, or that subies and evos aren't reliable from the factory.

BMW is well known for their I6 motors, it's a popular/classic engine design; part of what makes a bmw a bmw (IMO, may be a little biased about that). As for detuning the 2.0t, (again) of course they did. they detuned the E9x 335i so that it wouldn't outshine the M3 on production.

Subies are known for their thirsty engines. Naturally, BMW is going to strike a balance between milage, refined exhaust and NVH, and the power output.

And of course they don't want the turbo 4 to be faster than their 6. That's marketing 101.

i thought BMW was going for this look on the coupe?
i like this design way better.
