the way the hood meets the front plastic is fuck ugly.

And the dash, way to busy and "stylish" An E46 style dash wouldve looked much better.

the back end isnt bad, but overall i dont like it. though it is better than E90.

I really like damn near everything about this car up until the front end. IMO it'd look a lot better with the wheelbase shortened up to shorten the front end. As it is now the front and rears don't match at all.The front wheels need to go back a few inches and you're set.

Much better than the e90 though, thats already been said.

I think BMW should have stopped at the E46, that design had and still does have so much going for it.

Honestly... I kind of like it.

Every time a new BMW comes out all the E30 owners talk a bunch of shit. Give it a few years and you will get used to its looks and realize it is a great car. Same shit happened with the E60, E65, E63, E90 for me. Driving E30s, we like cars that we know and are used to--we don't have a taste for the modern. But just think about the early 80s when all the 2002 and 3.0cs owners were laughing at the E30. Your taste is all about your point of reference.

Sure, they use a lot of plastic and at first glance it doesn't look amazing, but it's not bad, it's lighter (88lbs who cares, lighter is lighter, we should be happy it's not another 200lbs heavier like all the other gens) and they offer the turbo 4 and 6, both of which seem to be awesome motors. I'm not complaining.

The front end was designed by a fat chick who tried to sit on a new 7 series but slipped and fell.

I agree, that hoodline is hideous. WTF were they thinking? Interior looks nice but similar to the current Honda Civic when it comes to layout = pretty generic looking. Overall the front looks nice and aggressive with the exception of the hood line and the rest isn't that different from the current E90.

I am really liking this car a lot. My only gripe that I can see with this car are those horrible looking seats. The upper back looks very non-supportive.

It's kind of interesting, at least to me, but BMW does this thing where they jump chassis as far as being a proper driver's car. The 2002 was great then the e21 was kind of a also ran. Then the e30 followed by the boat e36. Next the e46 was a proper drivers car compared to the e36 and now the e90 was only worth it's weight in their engine.

I am rather confident the F30 will continue this up and down trend bmw has. They took the best part of the E9X's and improved on the rest. As much as people don't like the E90 chassis most people here will agree the f30 looks better from every angle?

Funny but looking at the interior shots the f30's interior looks rather similar to our e30's interior...

Too bad they didn't keep the E39 looks because the dimensions are almost spot on.

                              Length 4624 mm
                              Width 1811 mm
                              Height 1429 mm
                              Wheelbase 2810 mm

                              E39
                              Length 4775 mm
                              Width 1801 mm
                              Height 1435 mm
                              Wheelbase 2830 mm

The F30 hood and headlights look unfortunate.

the turbo 4 cyl. motors are already in the X1 over here. the exhaust as well as turbo are on the left side of the motor (kind wierd to look at for a BMW)
the motor is basically the same motor as in the new cooper S- just not mounted sideways.

motors move pretty nice, but sound kinda crappy at idle.
