i was talking with Josh about A History Of Violence earlier tonight-

WATCH THIS MOVIE. it's fucking GOOD. (and it has the hot blonde chick from Payback who played the high-class call girl.) seriously, i can't remember the last time saw cinema that was so brutal, and real. it's not a gore-fest or anything, but what action there is to be seen is done in a completely unapologetic fashion-

done by the same director that did Crash last year.

i'm waiting on a torrent of Four Brothers to download, glad some others liked it as well so i know i'm not wasting my time.

So how many of you guys are stoked as hell for "Jarhead"?

Yep it made my to see list. Really makes me wonder how it will end. Seems like the show Over There on FX, but Desert Storm. If you haven't seen Over There I'd recommend it, especially if you'd like a taste of what some of our soldiers are going through.

Crash was awesome, saw that last week. Really thinker.

What gets me about that movie is bringing my copy to a friends house and watching it, then seeing their reactions. It makes you think on a level most movies can't make you.

What Charlie said re: AHoV, we as a movie going public are used to movies where violence is unrealistic (slow, only bad guys get hurt, well choreographed, etc etc etc), and this movie is much more realistic. Plus its Aragorn with a gat.


I'm not really all that stoked about Jarhead, I'm sure there will be some underlying political agenda I'll have to ignore, hopefully it will celebrate our soldiers instead of hindsighting our administration.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm counting the seconds until Friday night, I've already got my tickets for Doom. I've got pretty high hopes for it. The Rock is a pretty good action star, Karl Urban is in it, and he's a badass (Bourne Supremacy, Lord of the Rings), and it's rated R. None of that waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles PG-13 AVP crap, this movie is supposed to be gory as fuck, and the icing on the cake?

At least 3 FPS scenes, one of them including the fucking CHAINSAW.
