I feel you guys on this one, just got home from boarding up my gf's sisters house down in Seabrook (she most likely won't have one this time Sat.) and tomorrow I have my Grandfathers, his sister and a rent house to go and board up. Then Thursday at noon I'm flying with my gf's family out to Mexico City.

Yeah so the forecast for the hurricane is to hit me dead on....like the eye will pass right through my town and I live 22 feet above sea level...Plus its supposed to be a Cat 5 by the time it gets here....this sucks ass.....My family is packing up our vehicles and heading up to dallas.....at least I know the bimmer will be safe but I'm pretty sure my house will be fucked.

San Antonio? The eye passing there? I didn't get that yet, but I hope you're wrong. My brother and his wife live in San Antonio; he's a Captain in the U.S. Army and a Dr. of Pharmacy. They are inducing labor on his wife this weekend AND my parents were going to drive down there for the delivery.

I was under the impression it was going to landfall around Galveston. I just thought it would be making a northward turn by that time and kind of miss San Antonio. BUT, if it makes landfall as a 4 or 5 and is as big as Katrina I suppose it could still pick up San Antonio in the as well.

Seriously, you guys better go get your batteries, matches/lighters, candles, water water water, dry goods, propane gas/charcoal, ice, ice chests, generators, chainsaws, gas, etc. I didn't take Katrina seriously at all, and she did a number here like you wouldn't believe. If you're like me, you may not be able to go and spend a ton of money on a bunch of stuff like that but get what you can. BE PREPARED! Or just get away if you can.

Right now they are projecting landfall just north of Matagorda Bay and then continuing on at NW'erly trajectory, so pretty much it looks like evrything from Galveston up 45N would be FUBARed, with the tornadoes and storm surge.

Its all been gone for about 2 days now.
Gas stations are empty, so are grocery stores and Sam's/Wal-mart


Im gonna end up taking the BMW and letting the cherokee fend for itself.
