I also agree... American engines still have a long way to go... must be internal fighting with the pushrods and overhead cams people... both are viable... just build something amazing America... please. I don't know why american companies can't make an OHC engine that doesn't reliably rev to atleast 7 grand... or 6900... most of these cars only get to 6k and really don't like being up that high in the first place.


Why can't america make an american muscle engine that does eat itself apart? Why have they not advanced their combustion technology (i.e. cylinder head, etc), pushrod or not, to make reliable high output engines per unit of displacement?

The new Chevy Cobalt Touring car is going to be a strong contender. It was giving the Acuras hell the other day.

If it is going to be the same motor going into the Solstice I think this ECOTEC would be a pretty decent engine.
