I also agree... American engines still have a long way to go... must be internal fighting with the pushrods and overhead cams people... both are viable... just build something amazing America... please. I don't know why american companies can't make an OHC engine that doesn't reliably rev to atleast 7 grand... or 6900... most of these cars only get to 6k and really don't like being up that high in the first place.
I agree... the honda 4-cylinder motors are a thing of beauty... but the american motors would be cheap as hell to work on... i don't see the reason why german engines are so damn expensive... they have a lot of finesse to them and all... but if jap companies ever got into making bigger engines (as opposed to just sharing the same 3.5L V6 across the board) you might start seeing japanese bigblocks in american muscle cars  Well... probably not. Or maybe if american motor companies would advance their pushrod engines some more.
Example... a highly tuned race engine like my brother-in-laws 540 cu in (8.8L) makes 850 hp... thats about 96hp/L... it has 200 miles on it and has to have a complete top end rebuild... granted its a race motor. BMW's new M5 V10 motor makes 101hp/L and is daily driveable reliable with probably 15000 mile services. The S54 makes 104hp/L... just as reliable.
Why can't america make an american muscle engine that does eat itself apart? Why have they not advanced their combustion technology (i.e. cylinder head, etc), pushrod or not, to make reliable high output engines per unit of displacement?

maybe they use a crv block or something, i dont know
either way -if they don't include that motor, i hope its still set up for a honda platform. be pretty easy to swap in a supercharged b series of your choiceOriginally posted by bluntcan you get me a deal on cases of their (fiji) bottled water? i wash my 02 in that shit
