Hmmm decisions, decisions... What to run on the Sprint? Mikuni 40pHH or Dellorto 40DHLAs? I'm likely going to run the Mikunis since I have a HUGE collection of jets for them.

One of the Dellortos needs a new float bowl cover due to a broken float pivot, but aside from that, a set of gaskets and they are good to go. The Mikunis need a set of gaskets and that is it.

Good god! What a collection! I'm pretty sure I need to go clean some white stuff out of my shorts right now. Since you don't have the original engine anyway, I'd run the set that offers you the most flexibility.

What are you going to use for an engine?

Yeah it was a good score, $400 out the door for both pairs. They are going on a 160 Hp 1750. Shankle 8L cams, the head was ported and built by Shankle, with 10.5:1 compression. Lightened flywheel. 8000 rpm redline. I picked the engine and transmission up 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if the 40s will be big enough, supposedly it was designed for 45s, but the previous owner said to run 40s on it. If I need something bigger than 40s, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Either way, its going to scream.

I could one up the pic and pull the 44 Mikunis off the Datsun... It would be a cool pic.

Yes, yes I would be showing off hahaha. I might have found a set of SK carbs that might be worth picking up. SKs are modified Mikuni Phhs. I'm waiting to see if they are 48mm. If so, I might have to pick them up and put them on the roadster (It wants 50s, but Mikuni 50s are $3k)

Yes, a ride in the Sprint can be arranged.

I like it! Someday I'd love to take a 6 cyl Alfa for a spin. One with big cams and big carbs would be epic.

This was Alfa Tacoma, run by two brothers, wizard mechanics. Ferrari guys loved this shop. If you could get a tour, there were rare Ferrari blocks laying around, there was a basement with fantastic cars, and there was the mythical sub-basement with exotic cars never claimed by owners and those kinds of fourth-hand stories.

They're retired and I think it's gone now. FCA picked a suburban Fiat dealer to be the new Alfa dealer.

This is Alfa Romeo Paris. We think this is where my car came from. It was ordered, picked up in Paris, driven around a while, and brought back to Seattle by the owners.

Some really sweet vintage alfas in this thread. Not a fan of post 1970s alfa styling though. Every production car since the discontinuation of the Sprint has been really ugly imo (4C looks good in profile, Giulia looks like the offspring of an M3 and a Lexus in profile).
