          The Alfa Thread

          Is there a good resource for the Alfa Giulia Supers? It looks like a lot of little changes over the years that they made them. There’s a 75 in AZ that I like, not really in the market but I want to know what to look for . Ive seen many different headlight styles.. also I know they were 1300, 1600, were any 1750? What makes the Super , a Super Ti? Etc all these questions and more

          The first series Giulia sedans came in 1300cc or 1600cc with either single Solex carburetor (Ti) or dual Webers (Super).

            Yeah, they came out pretty early, '62 I think, with a 1300 version for home market. Before the 105 GTV and 105 Duetto Spider. A ton of tiny variations in grilles and trims and taillights etc, but usually engine and carburetion made the difference between models. The "Super" is generally the top version, with twin Webers. There was a lightweight Giulia TI Super (below) that was a stripped down sedan with a lot of the factory race parts underneath and air intakes in the high beams.

            We got the Giulias up to '67, then the '68 emissions rules ended the US carb versions. They kept making that body for the Euro market way into the late 70s I think, but with smaller headlights and a boring dashboard. They had 1300s, 2-liters, diesels. There were custom wagons built.

            They have a slightly longer wheelbase than the Spider and GTV and are very stable and fun to drive. You sit up higher than the other two, people like them for trips.

            The "Berlina" (sedan) 1750 came out in '69 I think, so they were made parallel to the Super for several years. It was bigger, uglier, but used the same doors and windshield as the Super. Those lasted until maybe '74 (?) and are still mostly unloved. Then the Alfetta sedan became the 4 door sports model, with a rear transaxle and great handling.

                    Not sure why they let them get away in the movie... they were designed to withstand jumps! haha or at least tested for it... hollywood ... smh...

                    Yea it looks like they moved the bumper up higher, which meant the grille got smushed and Im sure the headlights were changed due to regulations, but Im sure all of it can be back-dated...

                    I was diggin this one until I saw its a 1300...

                                I pretty much get to look at car porn every time I warm up my bike. Vehicles like this are a rarer treat.
