I'd love to see pics of the Sprints. Its not surprising that the stuff is seriously rusted, but its interesting that the newer stuff is less rusty than the older stuff. It was post '75 that the steel got really bad.

Ive gotten some pics from flyboyx, pretty bummed about the GTV but theres still something brewing with the tube chassis car and the Duetto fiberglass body

I took a few pics of each one. Ill post them later today. Im going to watch the race car chassis sell for simon, then im heading back to the hotel.

I feel really bad for peter to be honest. His 4 tool boxes sold for about 600 bucks. The miller mig with regulator and gas sold for 180. His torch set sold for 25 bucks. (Sadface).

One of the auctioneers is a spitting image of joe pesci. Its fucking halarious. Ill see if i can get a vid.

It's really a shame most of those couldn't have been kept dry somehow. But probably when they were hauled in there they were just old sports cars with little value. The two Sprints are really a shame. I see a back window you could use.

I would have really liked to see Simon get a GTV project.

So great though that Our Man Flyboy could actually be there and touch them and report back! What a group this is!

Are they auctioning the parts in pieces or one big lot? That would take forever.

          Awaiting pics of joe pesci....

If nothing else, this situation made me proud to be a member here. The info and the help I get from essentially strangers is amazing to me.

I was telling my buddy that its a shame that there was little attempt to protect the cars while they were fresh, what a difference that wouldve made in the money they generate today

Bummer. So I wonder what the deal was with the list of a dozen GTVs.....

Wonder what the silver GTV6 inside went for?

Likely a list of later Alfetta GTVs/GTV6s I did see a ton of those in the pics.

Yes, the fact that these cars sat out in the elements for years is a bummer. I'd bet they were bought as non runners and used for parts. At the time, no real reason to cover them. Skip forward a few decades and then we see the folly in that way of thinking.

It's weird they listed so many specific cars and VINs in the 60s and early 70s. There's a secret stash and Brian bought them all!

Yeah, let's see if in the future people will be coveting POS fwd 164 sedans.....I didn't like them when they were brand new!

Im sure Brian will give us a big rundown later today, Im guessing he's balls deep in his hotel bed right now after a crazy long day. I want to post some of the pics he sent me, but I dont want to steal his thunder.

I am bummed we couldnt find a GTV and have mixed emotions that the fiberglass body and tube frame car sold for $1500. I was totally open to spending up to a grand on it with no hesitation. If I had known in advance that it was still within striking distance I may have upped my price, but in a way, Im glad I dont have an additional headache on my hands.... sure would've been a fun one though...

I am so grateful that Brian was willing to go on an adventure for me to go see this on my behalf and regardless of the outcome he has earned a special spot in my heart

Simon, were you commenting on BAT about the 2l GTV? If so, its an early 2000, but hardly close to the first GTV with Spica in the US. Mine was the first one to come into Griswolds in Berkeley back in the day. That comes straight from John Norman who was working there and remembered the car.

OK, while flyboy is resting up and flying home, and we wait for all the rust porn...I went back to the beginning of the thread and looked at who started it and who was posting those Alfa things. We haven't heard from some of them in quite a while.

So I want to bump those guys and see what's happening with them -

Did you get an Alfa? Are you close?
                        Did you sell your Alfa?
                        Do you race your Alfa?
                        Did you finish your Alfa?
Do you have some cool Alfa stories?

                        Post up!

The OP, Mr Brezzi, who was hoping for a GTV6 maybe like this...

There are others as well. I'll try to PM these guys and get them to drop up in here for an update.

Thanks all - have a good weekend. I've driving university cycling team riders over the mountains for a cyclocross weekend in Bozeman MT in the Audi haulwagen with racks.
