What sort of comparisons were you looking for there? I'll help you out:

The single "California Girls" sold more copies than Iron Maidens entire discography.

It is true, I guess that is what defines "pop", is what is popular. Which is not Iron Maiden

          Damn straight.

Just listened to "Hallowed Be Thy Name" on the way home. It never gets old. Possibly one of the greatest works of music in the history of mankind.

I think the purpose of this list is to show that the completely and utterly talentless of todays pop stars are being shoved down peoples throats (er, ears) by the music producers, and they all are making money hand-over-fist in the process. Do any of the current pop stars on the left side of that list have 1/8th the talent of any single member of Led Zepplin? Hell no. Then there is current pop music's poster boy Justin I-don't-even-sing-on-key-WITH-autotune Beiber. Good marketing can sell anything, especially to the young and ignorant. NO ONE will be listening to this crap in 5 years let alone 30...and I'm out.
You say "Where are your other two cylinders?"
I say "Where's your other camshaft?"

Real funny that Iron Maiden was brought up here. While reading about water intoxicatoin and how it is frequent in long distance runners, "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" was brought up in my head and I've been playing Iron Maiden all night...

You guys are crazy if you don't think this trend of music won't play in 20 years......Do your cities not have stations that play "classic" 80s and 90s crappy one hit wonders and where are they nows? They'll get played in 20 years because the people now will want to relive there youth in the future. Think about this, the number one car in america for the longest time was the camry, which any car enthusiast thinks is shit but it sold a lot because morons like it; same goes for music.
