that's rough, man. Heck of a nice car, too. It would be a total shame to part it out... I could put it back on the road, but you're a solid 10 hour drive from me, heh...

Big Bummer! Sorry to see that happen! This has made me get serious about an onboard fire extinguisher! Also , is there a fuel cuttoff device that van be easily installed on the M20 engines that will allow one to shut off the flow of gas and potentially lessen the amount of fuel that is added to the fire?

I gotta check my hoses to the FPR and Fuel filter as well and will probably just replace them as they are probably the original 23 year old lines. Jeeze after typing that it really makes me think!

Why didn't you just whip your cock out and start a pissin'?

        Sorry for your loss.

I honestly have done this once when My carb caught fire a few years ago. Smelled so fuggin nasty. I wouldn't be too ashamed to whip it out in public to save an iX either.

I could not sit there calmly.

Sorry for your loss. Don't part it out though! Somebody can swap the body harness and accessories and have themselves an iX.

An M3 is the only car I'd save by pissing on it.
