Would an F20C fit into an E30?

    Sorry, I should have qualified that. Bare bones meaning everything internal is replaced. It would get you a great rebuilt engine that will last another 100K miles. If you skimp on things, you'll sacrifice reliability.

          I really really want to KA24DE-T an e30 one day. Bore it to a 2.5, lightweight pulleys, megasquirt, t28.

          Thats plenty of power, less weight, better weight distribution, and as cheap as a m50 (minus custom fab work)

            Question: So the F20C wont fit because of the oil pan and requires a lot of work and money. Now I don't really know how much dry sump systems cost but I estimate in the $1500 range.

            Would this fix the fitment issue, if you ask me $1500 is a small price to pay instead of major body/chassie work.

              For NA horsepower to engine displacement Honda has been at the top for a while with the intro of the f20c taking over reins from the mighty s14, not even apples to apples when you compare motors; the s14 is way more performance outfitted.

              I've thought about and am still thinking about this swap into my own e30 due to the responsiveness of the motor, I turbocharge BMW'S for a living but I am an NA guy at heart so response is big for me. My Honda that sits in the garage next to my vert will peg the 10,100 limiter BEFORE the pedal touches the floor, typical of a tuned Honda.

              Oh yeah, the F20c and predecessor F22 will both make 600+whp all day on a 100% factory motor with the correctly sized turbocharger, once again pretty cookie cutter for the S2000.

              I haven't pulled the trigger on this swap yet because honestly;

              F20/F22 w/ trans = ~4k
              S54 w/ trans = ~ 4k ( and yes I have bought them At this price)

              S54 is the better for the price, I just sacrifice a bit of low throttle response due to the individual throttles - easy fix

                About $1300.00, food estimate. This was the one I was looking at when I had a spare f20 in 2007.

                    Isn't that Toda drysump kit around $13,000? At least, that's what 1 million yen is.

                      That is a bit steep I would say $1300 is on the money. Pumps are a few hundred plus sump, oil tank hoses and any connections to the engine. $13,000 I think not. Then again anything TODA you can times buy 10

                            Sorry, I caught the username but didn't want to assume. Being from the Honda world why would you quote that RWD K series drag car as being stupid, and the F20 as not being boost friendly. Both of those scenarios being very common and well known in the Honda scene.

                              Why would you even bother swapping a motor at all if you only wanted 230 with a turbo, the lowliest stock equipped E30 ( M10 ) could do 230 wheel on the cheep with a turbo.
