Why did you delete your Facebook?

I got annoyed with the "look how awesome/horrible my life is" fest that it has become. I don't care about your diet, I don't want to see pictures of your pets and I especially don't care about your "relationship" status. What people post is the tip of the iceberg as far as reality goes.

small summary of how my facebook looked after a week ( added family, friends, work... etc )

Deleted all my friends, family work... removed every photo i put on there, changed my name to something strange and deleted the account. I'm never going there again.

I like to keep diaries of my cars on FB showing the hard work I've put into them, what goes wrong, how I fix it, how much it cost, etc, etc.

Other than that, and some basic info, I use it to talk with other BMW guys when they're not on the boards and converse with the GF when she doesn't have a phone.

I don't find my Facebook feed to be any more retarded than half the stuff I see posted on here during the day.

I have a Facebook page, rarely post, have some pics of the kids for out of town friends/family and mostly just use it to find out what people are up to in life who I don't have any other kind of contact with.

The complainers are kind of annoying when they have 10+ posts a day about why can't they catch a break in life when it is painfully obvious to everyone else that they make bad choices in life (like sitting on Facebook when you don't have a job). For the most part I see things like someone is getting married, or having another kid or starting a new job. Maybe they are going to a large event or planning one...stuff like that. I don't really see the problems everyone else here is having with it.

i deactivated mine before but my dad made me get it back (weird right?) he says I need to keep in contact with my aquaintances for future business deals. I guess thats a pretty good reason to keep it. I also use it for the lulz. I need more r3v friends btw pm me and Ill add you nohomo

I keep mine so I can keep in touch with like two people I wouldn't be able to talk to in person due to unmentioned circumstances without it. Once those circumstances changes, it's gone.

Really simple, change privacy setting so only friends can view your stuff.
