10 years under a licensed master contractor, plumber and electrician. My father has been doing it since I was 4. So he hired me on for my very first job with him when I was 11. I did a second story roof and my job was stripping and laying roofing. I have been doing it ever since. So I was not a pro at 11, it was the years spent apprenticing under my father that got me to being foreman. So yes, I am a master contractor, electrician and plumber. That is what pays the bills besides car jobs on the side and building furniture.
My true love is laying marble tile, my father bids the jobs out and I go do it alone because I am one of the fastest cleanest installers of any tile.
Only thing I don't do is gas line installs, I don't carry a proper license to do installs alone without my dad.
I have also been doing mason work for 9 years, so I am honestly well rounded in anything to do with building.
