This thread reminds me of my first GF. We also were together for 2.5 yrs and even tho she didn't cheat on me or anything shitty like that, I just didn't wanna accept the fact I did not like her for who she was anymore BECAUSE I LOVED HER and she was my first love (but I never actually slept with her. Everytime we got close to doing it, I actually was the one who pulled away from her 'cause I couldn't see myself losing my V card to someone I really didn't wanna see myself with years later (fugged up, I know)).

Anyway, we were 20 and started out as HS sweethearts and everyone all thought we were awesome for EO and all that other irrelevant BS. And when we were having serious problems, I seriously considered getting outside help from a shrink or counselling until I told a buddy about it and he was like "WTF mang? you both still live at home and arent' married, nor do you have kids...why bother??"

I was a basket case (just like you are) that everyone was sick of hearing blabber on and on about "maybe we'll get back together" and all that other sappy shit. After almost a year of dating other chics, I really started ENJOYING not being around my ex, and I started finding some really cool chics. People like to say dating new ppl. sux, but honestly, I see it as a hell of a lot of fun. Unfortunately, this exact same thing happened to me in high school. Needless to say, I broke all ties with the so called "best friend" immediately. She then had him take her to the prom where she dumped him for another one of friends.
