    R3V, who here wears suits?

I found out last minute that my company was sending me to Arkansas for a meeting with a Fortune 500 company for the final stages of an RFP. Had to rush out and buy my first suit in a hurry and pray the tailor comes through by Sunday so I can fly out Monday.

Now that I've bought one, I'm looking into more.
Who can school me on suits?

just to get an idea of the insurmountable markup/gouging the Northamerican economy has as a stranglehold on us, here's a little example.

I travel to Dubai, India for my work a couple times a year.

In Dubai, or anywhere really in a 'busy' part of India you will find suitmakers.

These guys, measure you out....and custom fabricate your suit in the materials you chose, colors you want etc
The materials will vary in price.

you can walk out of there in a "lower quality" material suit for $28USD.
I've been wearing the same "lower quality" material suit after my 1st visit there for 3 years now.

I was there last April, and picked up two custom suits from the asme tailor with higher quality materials for $43/pop.

if EVER you're headed in that part of the world, it's worth it to make a day trip and visit.
These suits are custom tailored to your body, and are mega comfortable...always get a compliment or two whenever I wear them out

I always wear Brooks Brothers. Wait for the sales and you can get a killer suit for $500. That's not quite $43, but it's better than $2500.

I've thought about getting a suit. Never have the ambition or money thought.

Had a chance when I was in Beijing to get a custom tailored silk suit for about $200 RMB. ($200 USD was about 1500 RMB at the time.)

I didn't because I got drug away by the electronic goodies over there we didn't have over here.

Exactly. My dad has told me similar stories when he was in Shanghai many years ago. Walk in, they measure you. Come back in an hour for a fitting, and then 2 hours later your cheap, quality, tailored suit is done.

This is why the Indochino business model works, they cut out all of the middle men. M2M Suits are here to stay.

I love my Indochino. Out of all of my suits they are the brand I'll be going back to. Their customer service is second to absolutely none. Not happy? Return it. Doesn't fit? Get one piece or all of it remade for free if their $75 tailor credit won't fix it. Show me another company that is even in the same ballpark.

I don't like really anything Josef A. Bank sells either. Not too much of a fan of Men's Wearhouse either. It's partially because I technically wear a 34 (Skinny/small torso yo). The smallest suit in an off the rack store is normally a 36/38. When they say "yeah, we can take this in here, do this" I shake my head. Another is the style for most of the stuff they carry. I just don't like it. For the price of their suits I can get an Indochino and their materials are as good or better if I choose. A suit should fit you everywhere without destroying the shoulders or cutting it to pieces to make it fit. I prefer a slim, modern, yet business appropriate suit. Indochino fits my taste and really I see their price pretty much on point. I'll be getting some shirts from them as well.

Given the cost of suits here, it might actually be worth it to fly out, get 7 or 8 suits, and fly back...
