I'm a cheap f... when it comes to buying most clothes. I am a fan of blazers/sport jackets. I have to dress up most days of the week and I buy most of my work clothes from Savers and I still think I look good and I have some extra money for other things. Lots of clothes are over priced. If I can get something good used I do. Where I work people don't check labels which is cool.

if you're going to wear them for your career, and you're weight is stable, buy quality. i've been the same weight +/- 5 lbs forever and the suits i bought 20years ago still look great
I wish i could do this. The last suit i bought was probably 10+ years ago, the pants still fit and by waist is still a 34, but even with a "sport fit" jacket, it is now a no go. My arms, chest and back are way bigger now...... :(

I really like it too and IIRC, i think i was over $500 deep into it when i bought it.

I love wearing suits, even just to go fuck around and do non important things.
I prefer a 3 piece suit, just love the classic look of a vest with my suit. Today I wore my suit pants and dress shirt with suspenders. (pants have no belt loops, which i also prefer). cant find the other 2 pieces to that suit though...

I found a gangster ass pin stripe suit in a thrift store for 20$, and it fit me absolutely perfectly without tailoring. the pants I wore today are actually from that 3 piece thrift suit.
My dad also gave me 4 suits from his CEO days, all 1000$+ Tom James that he had custom made for him. only 1 of them is 3 piece and the rest are VERY 80's looking lol. Im going to get the 3 piece tailored to me, I love it

^ nice. My step dad is the source of all my nicest blazers, and he has some killer ones from back in the day before he got chunky haha.

I am think of buying something from here http://www.studiosuits.com/. Tailor made for $200, obviously you can buy suits in India for $30, but I am not going to India so $200 seems reasonable.

I agree, Hugo Boss makes great stuff and quite a bit of it is made right in the US. I would recommend going to an upscale department store like Saks Fifth Avenue and letting a salesperson go through a lineup of clothes to recommend what compliments your height, body build, skin tone, hair/eye color, etc. I did that and I was amazed at the final result.

I'll never spend more than $150 on tailored suit bc that's all that's really needed here in the states. Also, I support cuff link shirts. They cheaper to tailor and I find they're much more comfortable around the wrist. I buy my blazers(and ties) on eBay from china, but I'm 5'10" 145 lbs with a : 45" shoulder, 39" torso, 31" waist, 25.6" arm length. Their sizes fit me damn near perfect. Here's the last suit I bought for a wedding in October.
Full Windsor> whatever you have going on there. Long tie is long.

There seems to be a good bit of Joseph A Banks hate on here, but I have some of their stuff and rather like it. It's decent material, fits me perfectly, and I generally get compliments my full suits from them. If you wait until sale time (which you should be doing regardless, as long as it isn't full custom) their stuff really isn't expensive. Their retail prices are exorbitant though.

Wish I had enough money to have enough suits to wear every day. Also, no shit-talk on Half-Windsors.

You can't always use a full windsor. It depends on on your collar size and tie material. OG knitted ties need a 4-in-hand or a small knot, even the half windsor is too large. Speaking of collars, don't forget collar stays don't hold well to an iron.
