My daughter is not pronouncing some words correctly, words such as Wednesday (she says Wensday) and breakfast (she says brekfist) for example.
Is there any real benefit to be gained from proper pronunciation? I hear very well educated people (neurosurgeons, lawyers, teachers) making the same mistakes... which makes me wonder if I am trying to correct something that may not hinder her ability to communicate well or affect her academic and/or professional career.
What say you?
