Depends on brand. Some rockauto stuff is really good and some is not.

I got Bosch plug wires for an eta for 35 from them. Shipping was reasonable and fast.

When ordering multiple parts I look to see that I'm getting them from the same warehouse so I dont get charged shipping multiple times. Usually you can do it but it tales some time trying different brands of parts.

Not everything is cheaper from them, but when it is its way cheaper. I can get new shocks for my truck from them for 10 a pop. Checker sells the exact same ones for 28 a piece.

I'll stick with the stuff blunt sells. He knows what's good and what to avoid. I often just tell him "Hey, on this part I want something good, but cheap" or I might tell him "I only want the top of the line, name brand, OEM or better for this part" - and he knows just what brand to pick for me. Can't beat that with a stick.
      This.

Seeing we have done maybe 20 timing belts, 5 or 6 swap cars, maybe 20 control arm ball joints, 4-5 Bilstein strut/shock swaps, e46 engine replacements, blah blah blah just in the last 6mos alone. Just let him know if the customer wants good, better or best, get the hookup. Plus he owns these cars and knows when it's for one of us in the shop, he gives us whatever he would put on his as top priority.

Not only that, but since we also work on VW and Mercedes, Blunt is the place to go.

eta plug wire are cheap because they don't include the cylinder identification sensor/plug. Have had RockAuto, AdvanceAuto, Autozone etc knock/crank sensors immediately fail.

Just because it bolts on and the car runs, doesn't mean it's proper.

          rock auto is good.
Make sure you pay attention to what brand you are buying.
also check where they ship from.

I saw a few lemfroder parts in their catalog but they shipped from overseas and shipping was $40 for one strut mount.

Everyone else was up around 100 for the same brand wires.

I used to shop there religiously, but then they added some credit card security thing that I had never heard of, that my credit union had not heard of, and that I felt felt was privacy-invasive, so I started paying with PayPal. Then there was some issue with my payment not going through, and they didn't bother to inform me for an entire week. I'm sitting here wondering if my parts are going to show up today and finally get an email from them. When I called asking why it took so long to inform me I was basically told that they don't have enough time to contact people any quicker about issues and that its my responsibility to insure payment goes through, and that I should use a CC instead anyway. I told them about the very peculiar and untrusted CC security scheme that had and was told "everyone has that now," which to this day I have never shopped at another online store that wanted me to enter the last 4 of my social just to make a $30 purchase. The guy I spoke with on the phone was a general prick about the whole thing so I asked to speak to a manager, the guy refused, I said I would be taking my business elsewhere, and the guy responded with "I'll take your email off our mailing list then" and hung up on me. He did it too, never got another email from them.

Fuck Rock Auto and their shitty customer service. I order my E30 parts from a local independent BMW shop that hooks it up.

Judging by the 2 posts, both of which about Rock Auto, and the non-working sig link, I do not think this is a real person.

I will never order from those clowns again. I ordered a driver's left caliper for my Volvo from them because IPD was back-ordered. It was a Raybestos brand re-built caliper. I received a driver's right. I told them I was concerned that the parts were incorrectly binned and was told to just go through the return process...which I did. I received a second caliper, marked "left" that was for the right. I figured...eff it. I'll just order the right side since for $50/ea I can just do both calipers and be done. I also let them know that the parts were binned incorrectly. Welp, got the car up to do the calipers and the right side piston was protruding out about 3mm too far. It wouldn't compress. So yeah, weeks of fucking around, a TON of wasted time...never again. Fuck RockAuto.

Lol. Posts are questionable, specially when this is in the other thread about RA...

I purchased a pair of motor mounts for my M42 sedan from RockAuto.
They sent me an incorrect pair, meant for the cabriolet.

Their customer service tried arguing that even though it came up under a search query for the 318is model, they were stated as being for cabrios.

After several days of me arguing with them, they finally agreed to refund me the cost minus shipping.
I sent them back to them, and was refunded the amount minus the ~$10 for shipping.

Total P.I.T.A - don't think I'll deal with them in the future.

Odd. The 318is and 318 cabbie have the same exact sub frame and same exact engine arms.

EDIT: All m42's use the same mounts. Here's a cross-reference...
