I bet 100 bucks that if your rear windows were tinted the same tint, you would not be in this situation.

Tinted windows and blingy wheels are immediatly attractive to all cops. In both my e30's I've never been pulled over (no tint on these windows, but I do have 16's in summer). And for the record, I love to drift on public streets as any e30 driver does
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

with the way governments are hurting financially, i would imagine that cops are told to just go out and bring in the revinue. that meens get out there and write tickets.

This is why I drive a quiet alpine white E30. It looks too much like an old man's car to attract unwanted attention.

Plus it looks far better without the tint imho.

I honestly love the look of E30's without tint. Only reason I have it is to protect my skin.

              I see both sides

are you breaking a law? yep. So you pay the consequences if you get caught.

I have 18% on the front windows of my truck to match the rest of the factory windows. 35% is the max tint allowed on front windows here in NC, I've been caught and gotten the ticket/fine. But I can't piss and moan about it. You either take it off or pay up and gamble.

The first cop that got me told me "hey just change it so you wont get a fix-up ticket" straight up legit and lets me go. This one is just straight asswipes along with his partner. Now i gotta show up in court and have the tint removed which i already did, honestly i dont even see a difference.
Were you pulled over the first time for the tint, or something else?

Well my concern is, will it go against my record and insurance? never been in this situation before honestly, thats why i had a rant on this thread tbh

Factory glass does have a tint to it, normally green but sometimes brown.

I heard that in California you can "dip" your windows? Not a film applied tint, but like a solution that coats the glass? Was that total BS or does this exist? Because I've heard of guys getting away with it in Canada because you can't remove it once it's on there.

fwiw "Factory" tinting processes are completely different then the film applied by tinters.

ususally, they will tell you if asked it is for "your saftey" as the glass won't break free so they can get to you in an emergency situation.

I dont think that is reallythe case, but I have heard it. I have also heard cops get nervous doing traffic stops on cars that are tinted out when they cant see a driver.
either way more often than not, front tint is illegal in alot of places...

I know the regulations in BC were in a nutshell " no aftermarket Tint forward of the drivers shoulder"

                                and that included windshield.

OP, it is often used as a reason to pull you over and pick on you as an individual by asshole cops. it is personal to them and they actually plan to do these things to you when they leave the house in the morning.
                                it is just you though.
