In my mid-20s I was still unsure of who I was, starting my leather company really gave me direction and a lot of self-worth. You find out pieces of who you are every day, it is just putting it into action and getting up each day trying to better the last.

Growing up I had lived on 4 different continents and 13 different countries.

Three things I will say:

1. No matter how important you think it is that you be "local" to your family, regardless of where you are in the world, you are only mere hours away from them. You can get anywhere in the world within 24 hours, let alone domestically in 1-3 hours.

2. I can relate with people in this thread who are in a situation where they feel that they have no friends, or at least no friends they consider more then acquaintances. I think its important to remember that there are people that you can relate to out there, and sometimes it takes a radical change to put yourself in a situation where you may meet new people. Not to be confused with being extroverted.

3. Friendships can survive on length of friendship, but for a friendship to thrive you have to have something in common, and sometimes when people get older their priorities change and what you had in common isn't so common any more.

That's very true. One of my best friends removed himself from my life this year because 1. I don't hate women and 2. I refused to get a motorcycle. It just sucks that my other best friendship died too, we're friends, but it's not anywhere near the same. We used to be the 3 amigos. Relationships come and go as priorities and commonalities merge and diverge. It's just life. Still sucks though.

F34R, set the spring meet up! Maybe my ix will be running properly by then. Just make it a Saturday so peoples can have Sunday to return home. As long as it's not around the middle of March I could probably make it.
