- Unnecessary/disrespectful language
- Unnecessary retort
- Describing/Replying to; the other guy in a completely condescending manner.

No need to put more gas on a flame in that situation. Although the boyfriend may have jeopardized the girls job, you made it even worse by aggravating him even more. Is it that hard to say "Sorry, I(we) didn't mean it towards her" and be on you way?

It's also about how he felt you disrespected his woman by talking like that in front of her and then told him to shut the fuck up for defending her honor. Don't disrespect a man protecting his woman (even if it's her honor) cause you just woke up a fucking bear. I've smashed a bottle over a guy's face at a party for telling my girl to shut the fuck up, and my buddies beat the shit out of his boys for trying to jump me for it. When you walk into that kind of situation, you're in a dangerous place NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE GUY IS. Either way, smaller guys tend to be little scrappers anyways cause they've had to put up with "big" guys like you all their life.

I definitely wouldn't have told him to "shut his fucking mouth", just because the girl could have possibly been his girlfriend and you really don't want to hurt a mans pride in front of girl. If you had cursed in my wife's general direction while she was doing her best to help you, and i was present, I wouldn't have said anything. I would have dragged you and your friend out of her place of business and lectured you on proper conduct in public places. If you had told me to mind my own business, I can't say I would have retorted at all. I can say you wouldn't be speaking to someone providing a service that way again. And yes, you wouldn't have been able to do anything.

I swore out loud in surprise at the price of the shipping, I never swore AT her. I wasn't angry or upset or raising my voice at all, especially not at her.
