It *may* be the first compelling iPad alternative if they have managed to keep the price reasonable, and if they get the marketing straight. Making the difference between the ARM and the x86 version clear to the average consumer will be a huge challenge.
Let's hope that the versions they bring to market don't get value engineered to death as well.
Well the iPad sucks/ wasn't new technology nor very innovative. I love Apple, but the iPad is a piece of junk.

The problem with most tablets is that they try to do too much and fail at all of it. The point of the iPad is to do 90% of what you'd want to do really well, and really pleasantly. The other 10% requires a real computer.
To say that the iPad is a piece of crap because it doesn't have every single feature that you personally want is to completely miss the point.

That was worded poorly I suppose. My point is, its so very underpowered, at least the earlier versions I used. To me, It couldn't have taken much more to at least run a slimmed down version of the current to that time Mac OS. I was simply let down by the confined use. Its just a large iPod in my eyes.
