    So I broke my Fibula

aaaaannd I have a cast for around 6 weeks, after which I'll have a boot for 4 weeks followed by some therapy. Which means essentially 10 weeks on crutches unable to work. I also don't have insurance.

I plan on reading a LOT, including:

and a probably the Wheel of Time series one more time.

    I also have

    which is awesome.

I also want to start writing again, as I haven't written since college. I suspect I'll be spending some time on here, but what else should I do?

    Picture for reference:

Ouch, hope you have a quicker recovery. Broken bones are never fun.

Was hiking and I slipped down a slope and rolled it. Heard a crack and that was it.

Mainly the thought of 10 weeks just sitting around is killing me.

Why no insurance? Public school teacher?

They usually have pretty good bennys.

Just got finished my whole wrist shenanigan. Broken, surgery required, about 4 months all said and done. I was dying. Just the physical inactivity was the worst. I ended up going on extremely long walks just to get some type of action in. It sucks.

No no not public school. I teach for a company like Huntington, but they specialize in tests at the high school level. Basically I'm a tutor who can teach classes and teach privately. But it's slow not because of summer and as such I've been working for a friend who owns a landscaping business.

Recently I had a long term position at a local school, and they were going to transition me into a .8 but because of budget cuts they basically just let me go one day. The district was hemorrhaging money like most other districts around here. NYS teachers have a killer insurance plan that I would love to get on, but it's part of the reason the system here is so fucked up and they are cutting teachers right and left.

Yeah, I'm actually extremely fortunate that this wasn't worse. It really isn't bad at all, I have almost no pain. I'm just bored with the lack of mobility.

lol funny story with mine. I almost went out to ride my bike in the woods alone, without my cell phone. Luckily a friend came along. I hit a chicane in the trail, entered too fast and lost it. I flew off my bike and my right leg just slammed into the ground. Im like no big deal (didnt feel any pain at all... myabe because my leg was in my socket and it held it together?lol).

So I pick up my leg by the "ankle" to move it back to position, because it is easier that way then to move it under my stump's power... and it didnt move as one unit. So i told my buddy to go call 911.

A quarter mile ride out on a stretcher over tons and tons of roots and I was in the ambulance talking about how cool vintage BMW's are with the paramedic. The local hospitl just referred me to Childrens because I have my own orthopedic surgeon there.

I had to sit in a hospital bed from like Monday evening to wednesday morning because my doctor was in London. lol now that sucked. And they couldnt put a rod down my femur cause it was too short.. so I had to have a special locking plate special ordered

                        thread jack over/

I know how you feel. I broke my tibia two years ago. Video games will get boring fast, you will loose weight and you will learn a thing or two about your friends.
