So you were hiking? How'd you get home?

When I broke my tib, which was 2 years after i broke the same tib and fib, I was out hiking, about a mile from the car. I was very lucky to have to friends that I could "crutch along" with, but it was an agonizing walk that ended up causing stress fractures in the talus.

Good luck with recovery. I agree with everyone's advice about working hard on rehab, but I will had that you need to be extremely careful at the outset not to overdo it, it will only extend your recovery time.

As in the Robert Jorden series? That will keep you occupied for quite some time.

Yeah, it will most likely take me the whole 10 weeks.

I never finished that series. At the time, the books were being published at the rate of about one every year and I moved on to different ones.
Anyway, hope you have a speedy recovery.

I just sprained my ankle/chipped a bone in my ankle two weeks ago. It sucks big time, I'm wearing a boot and on crutches for a few weeks.

I was trimming my trees in the back yard. I jumped up to grab a branch that was stuck high up in the tree. I landed all my weight on my right foot and it slipped in to a hole i didn't see. I heard 4-5 popping sounds as it went completely side ways. It was swollen for almost a week.

Also, taking a shower is a huge PITA. Any tips on that? I have one of those bag things that seal off your leg.
I was in a full leg cast for the first 6 weeks, so I was stuck with baths. Once I got the walking half cast I just put a trash bag over it and sealed it with tape.

Like 5toes said you can get a shower chair. My stepdad uses one while his foot is healing. Personally I just took baths, just make sure you have someone to help you get up lol

When I broke my foot I had the boot, it wasn't that hard to walk in, just kinda clumsy.

When I dislocated my knee and ripped the ever living fuck out of the tendons it was rough as hell not being able to drive my (manual) car, walk at a decent pace or wear normal clothes. I generally enjoy being lazy and sitting around so that part was golden for me haha.

Stay strong, I greatly suggest you do whatever the doctors tell you, stay off it as long as they say and do whatever stupid physio they tell you to.

Oh no bro. I broke my leg in the same place, I had a plate put in. After having the plate for a year and the wound never healing properly, I went back under to have the plate removed. I unfortunately had golden stafe infection in the bone. I then ended up on a 24/7 antibiotic drip for 4 weeks then tablets twice a day for 6 months. I couldnt drink for 7 months and now I have a big scare on my ankle. All better now though, but was scary cos i could have lost my leg.
