DDWRT is great if you want something better and have the know how. Open source is also a great option as the community (read as actual users) tend to update and patch faster than a manufacturer would.

Fixed my cooling issues. Ended up being shitty stock fan profiles. I changed them up in MSI Afterburner and my GPU temps are WAYYYY better. The profile could still use some tweaking, like lowering the left hand side a bit since, realistically, I won't see anything below 30C.

The earcups of my Bose AE2's are finally starting to fall apart and replacements are fuckin $30. I'm thinking of picking up some Sennheiser HD 598's as my M50's aren't super comfortable on my large head.

Much better temps Lambo. I'm even more aggressive than that on my fan curves... but it looks like you are at a good place already so if you want to balance silence with performance you have the headroom."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."

Yeah, I'm definitely going to be tweaking them more. Silence won't be much of an issue until I finally do a full Noctua swap and ditch the H80i GT.

I'm thinking of ditching the H80i GT for a Noctua NH-D9L as it seems to be one of the only perpendicularly mounted air cooler that will fit in the Air 240. That comes with an NF-A9. I'm thinking 2 NF-S12-A's (not sure if I should do PWM or FLX) on the front for intake and 2 NF-A8's (not sure if I should do PWM or FLX) on the rear for exhaust. Since my motherboard only has the CPU Fan header and 2 Case Fan headers, I believe I would need some thing like this (http://www.amazon.com/Swiftech-8-Way.../dp/B00IF6R4C8). Granted, I don't need 8 fans however, I just like the idea of getting additional power from the PSU versus just the header. Although, I could get away with 1-to-2 splitters coming off the mobo fan headers. Maybe that would be a better approach.

+1 i didnt feel the need for noctuas, they are amazing but i just went for arctic cooling 120mm fans, they are dead quiet until you start playing something intense, but then you will probably have headphones anyways.Comment

Yeah these are quiet all the time, you can almost never hear them. Youd never be able to tell I have 5 fans in the case. Until the GPU spins up and makes its ridiculous noise.

Its the one I have, the same one a friend got after telling me the 1ms, 144hz was a gimmick.
