Seeing as though he lives in Europe I bet the engine was less than $7,000. And with the cost of S52's in the U.S. around $3-6,000, I doubt you could build one to 340hp NA for $1-4,000 including the OBDI conversion.

I give you the Euro arguement.
Descent motors that I have seen are around 2-3k. It takes about 5k to buld the motor. You also get $1k back for selling off the stock parts.
It comes out to the same price of a euro motor. But you don't need to deal with special parts that need to be orderd from over seas etc. Now if you live over there then its a good deal but for us here in the U.S. I have found a better alternative for the same price.

ohhhh, cheapo. I couldnt understand why you would take a US over real S50.
I am kind of kicking myself for not coughing up the dough for a S50B32 that came up local (w/6 speed) for 7k back when I was doing my swap. I just dont think I could have justified installing a motor more unique....Im now E30less.
