I was on site when "someone" (no, not me) electrical taped the control levers, and disabled the safety switch in the seat on one of these Soilmec SR90's

enabling him to drill holes without being in the cab (because he was a lazy P.O.S.

Anyways, the rig started to sink in some mud and the entire thing toppled sideways onto a brand new Hitachi 450 excavator (one of these:)

and the operator of that jumped out and swung his bucket into the side of a brand new F550 Super Duty Mechanics truck (worth about $150 000)

    ahahahhaa... ugh.

I think the funniest part of this entire thing is that the guy responsible for the whole mess didn't lose his job because his supervisor knew about the electrical tape and switch disabling and didn't do anything about it.

Total cost of damage: $~5M+ PLUS we lost the contract for that job.

I broke the clip on a company pen once.
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

I put the wrong oil filter on a Toyota Camry once. It held for two days before blowing off. I have to buy that customer an engine.

Accidentally left the ignition on a boat engine I was working on, on. Hooked a battery charger up to it and left it for about an hour. The constant current running through the coil over heated it and it basically cooked the insides until it popped a seal and started spewing smoke/steam. Also burnt my hand on the metal casing of it when I put something next to it and brushed against it. Cost me ~$15 to replace.

First week on the job as a millwright, never worked in the trade before and my boss left me to wire up an electric motor VFD, I didnt know wtf l1, l2, l3 and u1, v1, w1 meant so I wired the shit up and exploded it in a big way when I hit the power disconnect for the first time. Didnt get in trouble for it cause my boss should have explained more instead of leaving the building and wanting it done when he cane back. Also cause a millwright does not equal electrician

Have seen a 85 ton truck crane get the house jerked off the truck and flopped into the rigging of the 150 ton sitting right next to it while on a 3000 foot pull back. In the process buckling about 3 joints of pipe. Total cost prolly about 3 mil. and about another 2 mil in pulling shit back out of the ground, and cutting the shit apart and putting it back together.

messed up several customers cars' by spraying concrete cleaner on their windshields and paint. All due to a lack of training...I just graduated HS at the time. My GF also came thru the car wash and was also entitled to a new windshield outa the deal too. My boss didnt' wanna fire me, but I didn't wanna work there anymore since my co-workers were asses.

Comapny was responsible for fixing many paint jobs and replacing windshields from my little stunt. Oh well, it was a major gas station chain in Canada
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!
